The Annex
The Annex at Is-y-Coed is two bedroom self-catered accommodation suitable for up to four guests. Its quiet rural location is close to the town of Llanfair Caereinion, just under a mile away.
Accommodation consists of a double and a twin bedroom, lounge, kitchen and shower room. There’s parking, wi-fi, and well-behaved pets are welcome.
Additional services include electric vehicle charging and the use of our laundry room. An additional cost will be charged for these.
We welcome guests who have mobility and other restrictions of course, but the design of the building (it was part of a farm) makes wheelchair access very difficult.
Local Facilities
Llanfair Caereinion has a couple of shops, a garage, a chippy, the Black Lion, the Red Lion and the Goat Hotel.
Things to Do
The Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway operates from the town, and there are plenty of local walks in some wonderful scenery. Glyndwr’s Way passes nearby, and there are plenty of castles to explore in this part of Wales.
Within half an hour’s drive is Lake Vyrnwy, Powis Castle, Welshpool, and Montgomery, with its castle. A bit further afield lie the Snowdonia National Park, Shrewsbury, Bala Lake, and much fine scenery.
Motorcyclists are sure to enjoy the Tanat Valley, the Banwy Valley and Bwlch Oerddwrws.
Railway enthusiasts have plenty of choice here; the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway, Cambrian Heritage Railways and the Corris Railway are the nearest, with the Talyllyn Railway, the Vale of Rheidol Railway, the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways a little further afield.
